on my morning walks i listen to npr. i learned about lilly ledbetter today. lilly was a longtime supervisory employee at a goodyear plant in alabama. near the end of her 19 year career, lilly discovered that she had been consistenly paid less than the men in the same position she held. the newest member of the staff who held the same position she did made $6,000 more a year than her. lilly's battle for fair pay went to the supreme court, but failed. lilly fought tirelessly for a new fair pay law and campaigned for obama speaking at the dnc and filming a campaign commercial for him. today, obama will sign new fair pay legislation. lilly will be there.Obama To Sign Fair Pay Legislation, by Nina Totenberg, NPR
